2025 Academic Year Mei Yi-Chi Memorial Medal: Applications now open until Mar. 3, 2026

To commemorate the late President Mei Yi-chi and his lifelong, significant contributions to education, the University has established the Mei Yi-chi Medal to recognize outstanding students and encourage future generations. This medal represents the highest honor awarded to undergraduate graduates of the University.

Eligibility

Undergraduate students of the University who have been enrolled for at least three years at the time of application and who meet all of the following criteria, serving as role models among their peers, may apply. Each student may apply only once. Students who graduate early must apply within one year after graduation.

  1. During enrollment, the applicant’s average academic, physical education, and conduct grades must all be 3.40 or above on the GPA (grade-point) scale. If grades are recorded using a percentage system, they will be converted to the GPA scale according to Appendix II: Conversion Table between GPA and Percentage Grades in the National Tsing Hua University Guidelines for Student Grading Operations.
  2. During enrollment, the applicant must have served as a student organization staff or participated as a member of a University athletic team, with outstanding performance.
  3. The applicant must have made specific and tangible contributions to the University.

Application Procedure

Eligible students who wish to apply should complete the application form and attach all required supporting documents. All materials must be submitted to the department office (Delta Building, Room 501) by noon on March 3, 2026.

Selection and Award

The Medal is reviewed and awarded by the Mei Yi-chi Medal Review Committee, which will select up to 10 recipients. The awards will be presented at the graduation ceremony and include:

  • One gold medal
  • One Chinese certificate and one English certificate
  • One undergraduate graduation honor stole

Important Notes

  1. Applicants must ensure that all information provided in the application form is accurate and truthful. Any false information will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the award.
  2. Submission methods for application documents (hard copy or electronic files) must comply with the regulations of each department or college. The total length of submitted documents is limited to 30 A4 pages.
  3. Applicants recommended by their college must, after confirmation of the recommendation, give a presentation to the Mei Yi-chi Medal Review Committee.

    • Presentation time: 3 minutes
    • Maximum number of slides: 30
    • Applicants must attend the Review Committee meeting for evaluation from 10:00-12:00 on April 10, 2026.
